    New Auto Refresh

Some of you will notice there is a new choice in the navigation called "Auto Refresh".

It takes the place of the "Last 24 hrs" link from before.

    What does it do?
When you click it you get a new layer on top of the site that gives you multiple choices (time and full posts or just titles). Choosing any of these will cause the window to reload at that refresh rate and will be remembered for up to one month (from the last time you click it).

Now, you can click Auto Refresh and the new posts will come to you at the frequency you choose. :-)

Simple. And it means ALLOT less clicking to see what's happening.

Enjoy everyone. I will be improving it over time with more options.

And yes Huey, it works wonderfully on the IPAD :-)

I betcha mine will sleep because I have notifications turned off. In fact, auto refresh probably won't work on mine; I spoke too soon. Give me a minute or two to check it out both ways.

Couple of minor changes in the backend..
So far this is holding up very well across 3 forums with heavy traffic.

    Anyone having issues?

I have only one... and it's not really an issue. If I want to shut it off temporarily, how do I do that?

Sort of. I'd kind of like to keep the existing list of posts. New posts only seems to show the new ones since I last clicked on "New Posts"

Oh I see... Yep, the auto refresh uses the old 24 hr list. Why not just click the 30 minute choice then. That's practically the same as a pause. When you're ready you can click whatever time you want again.

    Yes?

DN - did I resolve your issue with this?
I have heard one other person was having a problem due to his browser not liking frames. Hopefully the "new posts" still does what he needs.

Since this is working out so well and is so popular on all the forums, I may rewrite it to use CSS DIV tags and lose the frames. But not for a few days at least.

if you click the auto refresh it shows the past 24 hours links. Exactly the way it was when you clicked past 24 hrs before.

EXCEPT the page will auto reload based on the time you select at the top.

So, Click auto refresh, click 30 minutes and I doubt you will EVER have any issue. It will remember that time for up to a month.

If you actually leave the page there and dont go into a thread for 30 minutes the page will simply refresh. No real harm as far as I can tell.

That should work fine for you hux.
Please let me know that it does or if not, why?
    Thanks
    :-)

The 30 Minute option seems to not eat my weird little browser now, so that will keep me from needing to use Firefox.

Not an issue I have but Mart was about to write and complain... she didn't like being able to see the content of the posts and wanted the old 24hr look back... well selecting 'hide posts' does just that

LOL - I should probably have told people more about the hide/show posts.

It is also remembered for up to a month as well :-)
