    Why is there even a time limit? Sheezzz, if an original poster wants to update, remove a section, add a link, spell check, edit or change or for that matter remove entirely for whatever reason that should be an option. What purpose does "locking in" a post accomplish? Is this really such a problem that it demands an hour time limit?

    I think I explained that in my first post.
    Because editing capability comes with the ability to simply wipe the whole damn post out, it can make following a thread later a pita.

    it's pretty common in forums and so far it appears to pretty much a non issue.
