What a mess. Frustrating. When I get through to Gnomore we'll try to stop this nonsense.
Thanks Alex.
it is really really bothering me this. :|
BTW, killer avatar Alex....me like.
All I can say is, "Ruh Roh!"
Personally I dont run the MIB explanation this time.
Shit like this can be nothing more than a basement warrior with an axe to grind.
I just dont put much stock in the TPTB having anything to do with this one.
Either way... I am still here :-) And will remain that way :-P

It's like the Hydra in Jason and the Argonauts! Maybe Alex is really Ray Harryhausen. (sp?)
lol - they can bite me :-)
Now that brought back memories.

We had 50,000+ hacking attacks after that article ran in DOD magazine and was picked up by CNN.
My business partner was pissed.
Never had a single success though :-)
Wow, I am old.

Over on Tin Palace DFO already admitted to (whether or not you believe it is another thing) getting people he knows to post a bunch of copyrighted material on the Old Site, then report it, then call Matt and threaten him. Which would be, supposedly, the real reason behind Matt's AP purge. I don't know if he did it or not. And I'm not sure he has an axe to grind with the new sites. But it does give a little insight into what's possible by the disgruntled.
LOL = old... 2000
DOD excerpt.
Philip Loranger, chief of the United States Army Command and Control Protect Division at the Army’s Information Assurance Office, announces that the Brazilian hacking group calling themselves Crime Boys, who two days earlier, had defaced the website of US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) National Training Center, have threatened to take down the Army’s main homepage. However, the page is difficult to crack because it is running on an Apple Computer WebStar server. “The main [Army] site was switched to a server that was practically un- hackable,” said Alex McCombie, co-founder of New World Media Inc. and one of more than 30 witnesses to the March twelfth attack on the Army’s Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) website.

From speaking with slow-dazzle, it seems their problems were mostly caused by running up against their CPU usage limits. They've upgraded their account to prevent that happening again. The redirects were not to a spammer, but a placeholder search engine. They've had a few DNS problems too (the upgrade involved a change of servers as well), which should hopefully be resolved now.
Over at the Tinfoil Palace, we are getting a few server errors, which began happening about the same time that it became impossible for admins to unblock posts the system had wrongly ID'd as spam. I suspect this is due to a code upgrade gone bad. The hosting company is working to fix things, as they are starting to lose paying customers over these issues.
As for the Oil Age site, things seem to be on the mend, but sometimes pages are still loading very slowly.

Glad to hear S_D is back in the game.

have also been getting error messages at Emmie's Tinfoil Palace site too. since last night.
just periodic at this point and not the entire site, but a bit strange none the less.
You know what just made my day?
Seeing all the admins from the various sites all talking to each other here.
Tears in my eyes, really.
United we stand, eh?
