    Editing Posts

I know it will be welcomed by some and not by others but the ability to edit posts is now limited to 1 hr.

That basically means you have 1 hr from the time you post something to be able to go back and edit it. I struggled with how long to make that and figured I would see how well an hour works.

There is still plenty of opportunity for people to reply thus making an edit be confusing (depending on what is changed) but I figure it's as good a place to start as any. Hopefully this will be a non issue for just about everyone.

    Thanks.

I use the edit to clean up spelling errors 99% of the time. If I get it in one minute the "last edit" doesn't show. Limiting edit time is good for truth.

I agree. I can't remember when I edited something more than 5 minutes after I posted it, unless it was to add information, and it's easy enough to create a new post for that.

My fingers move faster than my brain so I'm a frequent editor especially for spelin'. Sorry if it bothered anyone (it would be vanity on my part to think anyone notices)

btw, what does the first symbol in the edit line do? its acouple of the letter "A" with a red "x" in front

Oh, I do that, too. I just usually catch it after I post and fix it then. Usually.

Won't bother me either. I sometimes have to edit to clean up spelling or a missed word or some such. But that always happens almost directly after I posted it. If I haven't noticed it before the hour is up, then so sad, too bad.

That works for me... I edit occasionally, also for spelling and grammar. It can't be too healthy to hover over one's post for more than an hour anyway!

LMAO here. Is Kitty's post in response to something someone else posted then deleted? Oh, the irony....

I edit mostly because I have reached the age where vanity, in the form of desire NOT to wear reading glasses, competes with ability to see my own typos, and often wins.

But, back in my former life, I was a professional editor. A typo will irritate me like a thorn. I can't get my Zen on until it's removed. Sometimes I don't notice until hours later... but I will still edit. Just my little OCD thing

So I guess the life lesson here is, "Wear your damned reading glasses!" LOL

An hour is plenty - edits are for spellings and grammar.

    Subsequent posts are for clarification.

Love it! Got a new pair of glasses myself today. My right eye is much worse than my left. I always had to take my glasses off to read, knit, etc. Though I don't need bifocals, the doc put a low-dose no-line bifocal in these to help me balance my eyes when doing close work. I love them.

    And damn sexy.
